The Cavendish Laboratory is arguably the most famous physics lab in the world. Founded in 1874, the discovery of the electron, the neutron, the structure of the DNA molecule and pulsars were all made there. We speak to Emeritus Professor Malcolm Longair who’s written a book called Maxwell’s Enduring Legacy – a scientific history of the Cavendish Laboratory.
