Professor Gerry Gilmore – Gaia Satellite

Detailed information from the Gaia satellite, recording data on more than a billion stars in the Milky Way has been published for the first time. The mission relies on the work of Cambridge researchers who collect the vast quantities of data at the University of Cambridge, overseen by a team at the Institute of Astronomy. We spoke to Professor Gerry Gilmore, UK Principal Investigator for Gaia.
