A local group have raised concerns that Waterbeach station isn’t fit for purpose. The station attracts around 350,000 passengers a year. But with parking regularly overflowing onto nearby roads-and overcrowded carriages local campaigners are calling for urgent improvements.

  1. Not enough parking spaces? Why not cycle or walk?

    • When did you last try cycling/walking along the road from Horningsea? There’s no cycle path, no footpath and the road is largely unlit and at national speed limit. Sure, those of us living in the village can walk, but it’s impossible for those coming from the south. There are cars parked in all the village parking spaces by people coming from surrounding villages who know they won’t be able to park at the station; this means people visiting the shops and pharmacy during the day have nowhere to park.
